WHO: Persons with an intellectual and/or developmental disability, ages 6th grade - 12th grade school year (must be currently enrolled or nearing completion of 6th grade year). Each participant will be paired with a youth exhibitor.
WHAT: Bacon Buddies® participants will have the opportunity to experience showing a pig. The judge will assess how the mentors, participant, and pig work together as a cohesive unit. All participants will receive a ribbon, Bacon Buddies® t-shirt, 2 admission tickets for entrance into the Linn County Fair (1 participant admission ticket, 1 chaperone admission ticket), and 1 parking pass.

Applicants will be notified by May 20, 2024 via email if they have been selected to participate in the 2024 Bacon Buddies® Show.
PLEASE NOTE: Applicants with allergies or sensitivities shall take note that the show will take place in the Swine Arena with a sawdust floor. There are a variety of activities, lights and sounds at The Linn County Fair and in the Swine Barn. Please bring any calming or auditory devices necessary to enhance this opportunity for your participant. Parents and/or guests are encouraged to watch the show from the bleachers and will not be allowed in the show ring during the show.
PHOTO RELEASE: The Linn County Fair normally takes photographs for all our print and website needs for next year’s fair. During this event, a photograph may be taken of you or your child. Unless you request otherwise, your photo may be considered for use by the Linn County Fair in any publications or promotional materials, in any medium now known or developed in the future without any restrictions.
