The Linn County Fairgrounds offers multiple facilities for rental to accommodate everything from a wedding to a corporate meeting to a family reunion. Learn more about the available facilities below and visit our Rental Information page for additional information.

Lynn Dunn Memorial Building

The Lynn Dunn Memorial Building was constructed in honor of a man whose passion was the Linn County Fair. Lynn served as a Linn County Fair board member and held multiple leadership positions within the Fair Association until his passing in March 2008. He also served as director of the Association of Iowa Fairs Northeast District.

Lynn’s dream was to take the Linn County Fair to the next level. He helped bring this dream to life by bringing the carnival back and adding concerts and more grandstand events to the fair. He also dreamed about having a building on the Linn County Fairgrounds that was an “all year” building. It would include meeting rooms, a kitchen, and exhibition hall.

It is with great pride that the Linn County Fair Association made his dream of a year round facility come true via the Lynn Dunn Memorial Project. Funds were raised, the building was designed and constructed, and it officially opened for use in 2014.

The Lynn Dunn Memorial Building features:

Exhibition hall with a 500 person capacity
Full catering kitchen with NO catering restrictions
Large conference room to host smaller gatherings for 10-40 people

Farm Bureau Pavilion

The Farm Bureau Pavilion was built in partnership with the Linn County Farm Bureau. This pavilion is perfect for outdoor events, where a concrete floor and roof help protect guests from the elements.

The Farm Bureau Pavilion features:

An open 90’ by 40’ space with concrete floors with a roof and open walls
First Aid station
Restrooms
And more!

Livestock Show Rings

We have hosted a variety of livestock events on our grounds over the years. We offer a cattle show ring as well as a separate show ring used for goat, swine, and sheep.

Features of our Livestock Areas

Ample Space for tie-outs
Pens for swine, goats, and sheep
Wash racks in both areas
Microphones available for extra rental fee

Horse Arena

Our horse arena is 230’ x144’. This large arena accommodates all sized of horses or shows to best fit the needs of the renters. The area will be disked and ready at the start of the show. Should you need additional disking between events or during the shows, a disking fee may apply and staff would need notified prior to the show.

Gazebo

This spacious gazebo offers a breathtaking location for a wedding ceremony or special event. There is an additional rental fee for an outdoor ceremony using the gazebo. Renters would need to provide seating for guests or chairs are available for an additional fee.

Garden Building

The garden building is a historic building and one of the oldest on the grounds. It is a beautiful building with a lot of natural character. It makes a beautiful backdrop for photos as well as a wedding venue. The Garden Building is not climate controlled.

Indoor Building Options

There are many buildings on the grounds that have been used for wedding ceremonies, vendor fairs, craft shows and more. Most outbuildings are not climate controlled. All are fully covered. Some have cement floors and others have a lime base floor. Talk with the rental manager if you are looking for other rental space options on the grounds.

Grounds

A whole grounds rental would have access to all the open grassy areas as well as the buildings on the grounds. There is a lot of flexibility on what can take place on the grounds. The ideas are endless for what our 60 acre property has to offer.
