Military Appreciation Day at The Linn County Fair

Join us for a heartfelt day of gratitude and recognition during Military Appreciation Day at the Linn County Fair. All past and present military personnel receive FREE admission to the fairgrounds and the Tough Trucks grandstand event at 2:00 PM.
To receive complimentary access, military guests must check in at the Military Appreciation Tent near the main entrance to receive a special wristband.
Schedule of Events:
- 9:00 AM – Voices of Valor Ceremony at the Linn County Freedom Rock
Join us for a moving tribute featuring patriotic songs and poems honoring those who have served. The ceremony concludes with a flag retirement ceremony, performed by the Linn County American Legions.
- 10:30 AM – Quilt of Valor Presentation
Veterans will be honored with handcrafted quilts, each a symbol of comfort, appreciation, and respect.
- 1 PM - 3 PM - 34th Army Band "Scrap Metal"
Get ready for an electrifying performance from Scrap Metal, the popular musical ensemble of the 34th Army Band, Iowa National Guard! Known for their high-energy mix of rock, country, pop, and patriotic favorites, Scrap Metal delivers a show that entertains audiences of all ages while proudly representing the men and women who serve our country. Join us on Military Appreciation Day at the Linn County Fair as we honor our military and celebrate with an unforgettable live performance from one of Iowa’s premier military music groups.
- 2 PM – Tough Trucks Grandstand Event
A fan favorite! Military attendees with wristbands receive free admission to this high-octane event.
