It’s wilder than a rodeo; it’s funnier than a circus! It’s “Celebrity” Donkey Races!
This donkey extravaganza will be at The Linn County Fair on
Sunday, July 2, 2023. The starting time is noon. Sponsored
by Heartland Bank and KZIA 102.9 radio. A Championship heat between the top two finishers from each of the five elimination heats will determine this year’s champion “Celebrity” Donkey Jockey!
Real, live donkeys specially selected for “Celebrity” Donkey Races will be used for this fantastic show presented by Heartland Bank. See
“KILLER”, world famous comedy donkey! 600 pounds of pure dynamite! He’s rough and tough and hard to bluff and hasn’t been ridden yet!
Come one; come all to the craziest show on earth: “Celebrity” Donkey Races!
Registration will be available at the Grandstand beginning at 10:00 AM. Those that pre-registered may check in beginning at that time. All riders must arrive by 11:00 AM.
Few things to remember:
- There is no fee to be a Donkey Rider, plus you get into the fair and grandstand event for free.
- Note, any family or friends that are coming to watch you, will need to pay the $5 main gate fee (after 9am on Sunday) and $5 for general admission into the grandstand event (5 and under are free).
- Minimum age of 16 years old
- All Riders must weigh less than 225 pounds
- Riders must attend the 11 a.m. pre-event meeting at the Grandstands on Sunday, July 2. Come to the grandstand and they will direct you to where to check in.
- Suggested to be in good healthy and physically fit
- Gym shoes or boots are a must, no cleats, spikes or sandals
- Feel free to wear your organization/team shirts/t-shirts
- Long pants should be worn
- For a crowd pleaser feel free to come in outlandish costume
- Baseball helmets and elbow/knee pads will be provided
