Monday July 14, 2008-Heritage Day Sponsored by:

 

  • "Hands On" displays in the Morton Building 9:30am-3:00pm

Spinning, weaving, bobbin lace, quilting, cross stitch, hook rug, tatting, crocheting, sewing, knitting, rope making, butter churning, Cedar Valley Woodcarvers, wood craft making, china painting, rug weaving, jewelry making, Czech egg painting, "Close to my Heart" scrapbooking.

  • 9:30-10:30am Bob Welch-Songs of the Civil War performing in the Morton Building

Performing in the Free Entertainment Tent:

  • 9:30-10:30am Jewels
  • 11:00-12:00pm Iowa Accordian Club Band
  • 12:00-1:00pm Bob Welch-Songs of the Civil War
  • 2:00-3:00pm Glenn Lonsdale and Carlis Faurot (bluegrass music)

 

  • 10:00am-3:00 pm "Mark Twain" Winding Road Productions roaming the fairgrounds

 

  • Various vendors and displays, provided by: Cedar Rapids History Center, Alburnett Historical Society, Central City

Historical Society, Hawkeye Region Model A Restorers Club, Songs of the Civil War, Iowa Accordian Club Band (free entertainment tent), Jewels (Celtic/Scottish Music)

 

  • 4:00 "Antique Appraisal at the Fair" in the Morton Building. There will be $2 per item charge, with proceeds going towards upkeep of the fairgrounds.

  • 4:30pm-6:00pm Dutch Oven Supper, prepared by "Beans N Que" of Des Moines, Iowa

$12.50 per plate, tickets must be purchased in advance by July 3rd

Supper includes: smoked brisket, signature beans (4 beans, 3 meats, lots of TLC in the dutch!) cole slaw, dinner roll, dutch oven cobbler, ice tea, lemonade and water.
